Arwyp Medical Centre: Our COHSASA Accreditation Journey

The Arwyp Medical Centre, situated in Kempton Park and established in 1985 has been through the COHSASA Accreditation journey three times. This is their story, told by Ronel de Lange, Quality Assurance Manager at the Hospital.

“At Arwyp Medical Centre, our journey with COHSASA and the accreditation process has been both transformative and rewarding. From the very beginning, after our first accreditation in November 2018, the process provided us with a clear framework to critically evaluate our systems, identify gaps, and align ourselves with best practices in healthcare.

“What sets COHSASA apart is not only the rigour of the standards but also the supportive and collaborative approach of the team. The accreditation process was not about compliance alone—it became a powerful driver of continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and staff empowerment across all levels of the organisation.

“Through this journey, we have strengthened our governance structures, improved clinical outcomes, and fostered a culture of accountability and excellence. The process has also encouraged multidisciplinary teamwork, with every department actively contributing to achieving and sustaining high standards.
