"The Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA) deplores the spate of violence directed at foreign nationals living in South Africa over the past fortnight which has resulted in the loss of life and limb and created a climate of fear for all Africans who have chosen to regard our country as their home.

COHSASA is a non-profit company and works with Ministries of Health and healthcare facilities in a number of countries in Southern, East and West Africa.  We have built excellent relationships with these countries over the years.  It is a great concern that these are being put in jeopardy by the xenophobic acts.

We call on the leaders of South Africa to bring about a swift end to these xenophobic attacks and as a matter of urgency to educate and foster tolerance of all for all living in South Africa. We all need to be reminded of the principles of Ubuntu."
