COHSASA’s Patient Safety programme in the Free State, AIMS (Advanced Incident Management System), received a 1st runner-up award in the category “Innovative use of ICTs for Effective Service Delivery” at the 2012 Public Sector Innovation Awards. The awards are part of an initiative under the auspices of the Centre for Public Service Innovation.
The announcement was made at a gala evening at Emperor’s Palace hotel, Kempton Park, Johannesburg. Attending the gala evening at Emperor’s Palace on behalf of COHSASA was Petro de Beer, AIMS Coordinator. Congratulations to all the hardworking staff in the Free State who adhere to the principles of the AIMS programme and to Petro de Beer and Colleen Delbridge for their dedication to such an important aspect of patient safety in South Africa. Mrs Petra de Beer’s hard work earned her Employee of the Year in Management for 2012 at COHSASA’s end of the year function.
