I recently attended the ISQua conference which was held in Qatar. The quality of presentations was excellent and there were some great insights into patient safety and quality improvement initiatives from across the globe. Also good presentations and discussions on accreditation and regulation in different countries. There were some excellent papers and posters from African countries; Elom Otchi from Accra in Ghana was one of the winners in the poster competition for research into maternal and infant deaths in maternity units.
Africa was however unrepresented and we would like to see this change in coming years. As a first step, the call for papers for the ISQua conference 2016 is now open. The conference will be in Tokyo, Japan from 16th to 19th October.
Please visit the ISQua website to submit your papers – http://isqua.org/Events/japan-2016/call-for-papers.
We look forward to more African winners.
